The National Beauty Register was founded on a simple premise: that American consumers deserve beauty coverage conducted with the same rigor applied to medicine or automobiles, rather than coverage shaped by advertising relationships. We publish no sponsored content and accept no paid placements. Every product we review is purchased anonymously at ordinary retail prices, never solicited or supplied by a manufacturer. This is not a policy we mention once and then set aside; it governs every test we run and every conclusion we publish.

Our testing combines laboratory analysis with clinical judgment. Formulations are examined for what they contain and how they perform under repeated use; claims about efficacy, wear, and safety are checked against measurable results rather than accepted at face value. Where a product falls short of its marketing, we say so. Where it performs well, we say that too, without embellishment.

The Review Board

Our editorial judgments are overseen by a small board of specialists who bring clinical and formulation expertise to the work.

Professor Charlotte Weber chairs the Review Board. A dermatologist with decades of clinical and research experience, she sets the standards by which our claims are measured.

Dr. James Holloway serves as Consultant Dermatologist, lending clinical perspective on how products perform against the skin conditions and concerns real patients bring to his practice.

Sarah Pemberton leads our Laboratory Testing. A cosmetic chemist by training, she oversees the technical certifications that underpin our published results.

Full biographies for each member appear elsewhere on the site.
